This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Caption Remover app for Android (“the app”, “we”, “us”).
You choose files through Android’s system photo picker, so the app can only see the specific photos or videos you pick. It does not browse your gallery. All caption and text removal runs on your device, and the files never leave it. Finished results are saved to your device, in Pictures/CaptionRemover and Movies/CaptionRemover. We never receive, store or share your media.
The free version shows an ad from Google AdMob when you choose to watch one to unlock a removal. Users in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for their consent first, and can change their choice at any time from “Ad privacy choices” on the app’s home screen. To serve and measure ads and prevent fraud, Google’s Mobile Ads SDK collects and processes:
This data goes to Google, not to us, and is encrypted in transit. Google handles it under its own policies. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy. You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your device’s Settings under Privacy › Ads. Premium subscribers and lifetime owners see no ads.
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your payment details. The app receives only the status of your purchase from Google Play, so it can unlock Premium.
The AI Core is part of the app and is delivered by Google Play. It runs entirely on your device.
The app keeps a few settings and counters on your device, such as your preferences and how many free AI removals you have used. If Android’s backup is turned on, Android may include these settings in your Google account backup so they are restored when you reinstall the app. This backup is managed by Google, and we cannot access it.
The app uses Google Play to deliver updates and to show the optional in-app rating prompt. Google processes the data needed for these features under its own privacy policy.
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
